Richard Petty, Race cars and Personal Growth

I was doing the Richard Petty race car experience a while back and driving a car 140 miles per hour. I suddenly found myself looking at curve and thinking, “I don’t want to hit it.” That’s exactly where I was heading. When you think of something, you are directed towards it, whether it’s a wall when you’re driving or a challenge or obstacle that must be addressed.

I found myself heading toward the curve and let off the brake. I realized that I needed to maintain my acceleration and make my way through the curve. I was thrilled after and realized I had met a big challenge. This is the lesson I learned… you don’t put the brakes on when you’re faced with a challenge but instead maintain your speed and power through it.

You don’t have to drive a stock car to understand that. This lesson applies to all areas of your life whether it be personal, spiritual or business related. Just keep moving and don’t let off the gas. You’ll make it through that curve like a pro!
